Well the answer turns out to be yes. I start a project yesterday. Lar said he would like a gator to wear when he was riding his bike to work in the wee a.m. So rather than run out an purchase it, I thought, I could do this…. So, I went to my knitting coach, Randi, and she got me started. I got a good start on it too. Sure, I had to pull it all out cuz I did some kinda whacky-reverse number on it. But, I’m gonna start again straight away. I like to try to engage activities my children love (if I dare- and I’m a little of a risk taker, I’d say). it is my effort to participate in a genuine enough way so as to be able to share that common interest with them. With Lar and Lucas it has been books; reading and author selection and diving into the mind of the author and the world fantasized by them. That’s how I came to love Dick Francis. Lar introduced me and I fell under Francis’ spell and the way he understands integrity and rich character and cohesive articulation. And Lucas, well… so many invitations to read various authors and so little time to complete the task. However, the deliciously surprising author and tale that mutated my mind and sent me into a whole other dimension of reality was Stephen King and the Dark Tower series. Mind blowing! A part of me absolutely belonged to the gunslinger’s story until the series completed. This is what I find to be true for really good authors. A sort of mind-meld with their perspective that literally becomes a part of my mind… ~Cole interuption~ So anyway, off I go to get involved with Cole and his pogo stick… and then on to knitting…
